How long should I have my photographer for my wedding?

Creative Elegance – How long should I have my photographer for t my wedding??

Hey guys, Mark Britain here again with another constantly asked question. How long should I have a photographer for at my wedding???

The answer to this question will be determined on how important your wedding photos are for you. Do you want photos of the Bride or Groom getting ready? Do you want photos of the speeches? The Father Daughter Dance? The Garter Belt or Bouquet Toss?

At the bare minium everybody wants the wedding photographer for the Ceremony, Family/Group photos and the Formal Photos. The question is is the other events that happen on your wedding day important enough in your mind.

Me for example I had 4 photographers for my wedding. They were there from Groom (me lol) getting ready till when we left at the end of the Reception. In my eyes photography is extremely important.

In some I hear “Uncle Eddie has a DSLR camera and knows what he is doing, he can shoot our reception so we don’t need you to hang around.” What they don’t know is from experience that all the “Uncle Eddie” knows how to use his camera, and can take a good shot but, good old Uncle Eddie is a Guest at your wedding and there is FREE drinks at your wedding. So Uncle Eddie is going to have a couple of drinks at your wedding… Do you see where this is heading??? Uncle Eddie has a few too many drinks at your wedding and puts down his nice, expensive DSLR camera, cause he doesn’t want to break it. Therefore not capturing the shots he said he was going to.. With it being the even it is, a WEDDING, your can’t do a re-do, or go back and do it again cause the photos didn’t turn out…

The same happens above with the Bride getting ready, “ohh one of the bridesmaids has a big camera, she said she would take some photos..” Bridesmaid?? Doesn’t she have to get ready for your wedding???

But at the end of the day the decision lies with the B&G, well mainly the Bride…
